Backstory and Mission

So, I should probably explain what this is and why I am doing it. I have been involved in the performing arts since 1985 (from collegiate to community to professional) and rarely have I seen reviews of shows done by those in the business, much less by a composer and/or playwright, which I am. The vanguard has always been the Times and Variety..and while many agree that their voice is the Voice of Legend, I do not agree.
Reviews in the past have been "catchy to the catty," "sometimes even rude or vulgar, and their voices, more often than not, can deify or villify a show. To put it plainly, anyone who reviews one of my works and gives it the hard pan, causing early closure, had better hire a bodyguard...or so I used to say.
The proactive thing to do would be create an outlet to join in their "reindork games." So that's what this is.

My mission is simple: Analyze and review a show, from the internal mechanisms rather than the external reaction. No, I am not an ass-kisser, no I am not an angel, and yes, I will have very controversial opinions, but at least I will not be a douchebag. #sorrynotsorry

Since my most recent show was pitting "The Bridges of Madison County" by Jason Robert Brown, I will be starting there, along with a little backstory on Brown himself, for those not in the know.

I hope this is what some people want. I hope it's you, and I hope it stays in the moment.

Scott
